• Eraser TV – Buzzfeed Depression Quiz

Just released is Limerick post-punk noise-pop act Eraser TV‘s debut EP, the wryly-titled Buzzfeed Depression Quiz, that tells you all you need to know about the wry wit of the trio. Featuring zero short, snappy numbers and a nine-minute epic celebration of languor, no compromise has been made on the EP, filled with all the trimmings, creases, and slightly-off guitar lines you’d hope from a band with nothing to lose. Buzzfeed Depression Quiz is a completely unselfconscious release, and is all the better for it. The EP was recorded and produced by Chris Quigley, self-released and available on Bandcamp on a pay-what-you-like basis. Stream below:…

Cléa van der Grijn – Reconstructing Memory (Image Courtesy of Heike Thiele) Ahead of the opening of Clea van der Grijn’s Reconstructing Memory in Limerick City Gallery of Arts on April 27th, Rebecca Kennedy speaks with artist on voyeurism, love letters, self-censorship and the intersection between life as an artist and motherhood. Who is your favorite artist and what facet of their practice do you find fascinating? Sophie Calle. I think she’s a very interesting person. It’s like her life is recorded in snippets of film. I think I live vicariously through her work. I love that she spies so un-intrusively…

  • Premiere: Love Addict – Script for a Man EP + ‘Craving a JPEG’ Video

Irish emigre Shane Harrington, formerly of Limrock math-punks We Come in Pieces, has been keeping himself busy since heading to New York a few years back. Aside from math band A Year and Change and solo electronic project OST, he’s been brooding on noise side-project Love Addict. It pulls precisely zero punches. Self-recorded and self-performed, it draws on a rich vein of sludge and math-rock angularity. Love Addict is the noise-rock experiment of New York based musician Shane Harrington (OST, A Year And Change, We Come In Pieces). Script For A Man was recorded, mixed and performed by Shane in its…
