We’re pleased to offer a first look at the new video by Galway’s Loner Deluxe. Comprising Rusted Rail records main man Keith Wallace, A Lilac Decline aka Cecilia Danell and So Cow’s Brian Kelly, the trio’s recent LP, Field Recordings, is hands down one of our favourite Irish albums of the year thus far. A highlight, opener ‘Track 1 Side 1′ is a cyclical lo-fi feat, featuring scorched lead guitar in the vein of Pixies’ Joey Santiago. Have a first look at the track’s accompanying visuals, courtesy of tinyEPICS, below.

One of the busiest creators in the scene, Keith Wallace splits his time making music as Loner Deluxe and running West Coast micro-independent label Rusted Rail. Taking in both realms, March 5th saw the release of Field Recordings, a wonderfully genre-spanning, 14-track release – Loner Deluxe’s third full-length to date – that reveals Wallace’s knack for lo-fi songwriting that curveballs at every turn. Today we’re pleased to present a first look at the video for LP highlight ‘Tin Foil Hat’. In Wallace’s own words, The music video for the UFO-paranoia themed-song is a joint-production between Rusted Rail and longtime videographic…

Ahead of the release of his third album next month, Galway’s Loner Deluxe aka Keith Wallace (also founder of independent label Rusted Rail) guides us through his all-time favourite songs from Nico, Can, Mercury Rev, Silver Jews, Neu! and more Loner Deluxe’s Field Recordings is released on March 5th Mercury Rev – Frittering I’ve loved this song for so long that when I heard Cian Ó Cíobháin play it recently on air on his An Taobh Tuathail radio show on RnaG I nearly levitated off the couch. This song and its parent album turn 30 this year and I’ve…

The only way to discover something truly new in music is to experience it without any preconceptions as to what it could encompass. Remove all your expectations, clear your mind of any niggling biases, shut yourself off from any stimuli that could interfere and truly immerse yourself. It’s advice we could all do well to follow, but when the occasional press release promises the birthplace of a brand new genre it’s near impossible to stop your mind spinning with all possibilities of what’s about to happen. Songs I Taped Off The Radio, the second album by Galway-based Loner Deluxe does…

The music-making moniker of Galway indie maestro and Rusted Rail founder Keith Wallace AKA Loner Deluxe is an appellation that strongly hints at the willfully – and wonderfully – introspective nature of his craft. Conjuring the likes of early-to-mid 90s era material on Slumberland, Misplaced Music and Fluff Records via a prism of Beta Band, Grandaddy and hints of Nick Drake, new single ‘Summer Song’ is a blithe, lo-fi instrumental taken from both the recent Loner Deluxe/A Lilac Decline split, as well as the new Loner Deluxe album, Songs I Taped Off The Radio. Stream and/or order that on cassette here. Shot in…
