  • The Thin Air Writers Club @ Oh Yeah Centre, Belfast

    We’re teaming up with Belfast’s Oh Yeah Music Center from Monday, July 21 to Friday, July 25 to present The Thin Air Writers Club, a five-day music journalism course looking at many different aspects of the craft, profession and industry.   • Oh Yeah Centre announce Scratch My Progress acts

    Belfast’s Oh Yeah Centre have announced the five acts that will take part in this year’s installment of their talent development programme, Scratch My Progress. Having expanded from four acts to five this year, the programme has chosen indie-pop band Hurdles, singer-songwriter Matthew Duly, indie-punk act Hot Cops and Belfast alt-rock five-pieces Setotonin and R51.     After two successful annual campaigns to date, Belfast’s Oh Yeah Centre are once more on the look-out for young musical talent to apply for their ‘Scratch My Progress’ programme. A talent development programme offering four musical acts the opportunity to “hothouse their talent, learn about the business of music, plus the trades of performing and writing”, it will involve various meetings and workshops with music industry professionals including lawyers and accounts, vocal coaches, PR experts and more.   • Distillation 003: Hornets, No Spill Blood, PigsAsPeople

    Our intrepid photographer Liam Kielt was in attendance at their third installment of Distillation at Belfast’s Oh Yeah Centre. Headlined by Hornets, the showcase also featured suitably blinding sets from Belfast-based three-piece PigsAsPeople and Dublin band No Spill Blood.
