    Ahead of our annual Top 100 Irish Tracks of the Year countdown later this month, we’re counting down our Top 50 Irish Releases of 2015 (that is to say EPs and albums) every day this week.     Having featured in the first issue of our physical magazine, Belfast’s finest independent dispenser of wax,Sick Records celebrate their grand first birthday from 2pm on Saturday, March 7. Having steadily established itself as the city’s most comprehensively tasteful record store, psych-inflected rockers Thee Penny Dreadfuls, acoustic doom master Robyn G Shiels, new-fangled Derry duo Fabric and Bloomer White will all perform on the day, with DJ sets coming from Chris Hanna (Oneknown) and Jamie Nelson.   • Line-up announced for inaugural Output showcase

    With just over a fortnight to wait, the line-up for the inaugural Output have been announced. Northern Ireland’s largest ever one-day conference and showcasing event, taking place throughout Belfast’s city centre and Cathedral Quarter on Thursday, October 16, it will see a series of free talks, workshops and pop-up gigs, attending by around 350 artists, businesses and creative students.     With Bangor singer-songwriter Foy Vance having scooped the inaugural award last year, the twelve-act shortlist for this year’s Northern Irish Music Prize has been revealed.     Six years in the making, Belfast-based singer-songwriter Robyn G Shiels will sigh a breath of relief on Saturday, May 31, when he launches his long-awaited (not to mention, truly exceptional) second studio album, The Blood of the Innocents.
