• Mercury Set For Deserter Songs 20th Anniversary Irish Shows

    It’s been announced that Mercury Rev will play four Irish dates in April celebrating the 20th anniversary of their seminal fourth album Deserter Songs. Billed as “a very special acoustic and intimate Performance” the New York band will play Bangor’s Wesley’s Centenary Church on Tuesday, April 17, Dolans Warehouse in Limerick on April 18, Galway’s Roisin Dubh on April 21 and Dublin’s Whelan’s on April 22.   • Car Seat Headrest set for Olympia Theatre

    Less than a year on from playing the Academy, Will Toledo’s Car Seat Headrest have been announced to play a show at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre on Wednesday, May 16. The news coincides with the announcement that Toledo will release a re-imagined version of his 2011 album Twin Fantasy, on February 16 via Matador. Watch the brand new video for ‘Nervous Young Inhumans’ below.   • Alanis Morissette For Dublin and Cork Shows

    Ten years on from playing Dublin’s Marlay Park as part of her Flavors of Entanglement tour, it’s been announced that Alanis Morissette will return to Ireland for two shows next year. The multi-platinum selling Canadian-American musician will play Cork’s Live at the Marquee on July 4 and Dublin’s Iveagh Gardens on July 5. Tickets go on sale on Monday – December 18 – at 9am.   • Beck and Yeah Yeah Yeahs Set For 3Arena

    The rumours are true: Beck and Yeah Yeah Yeahs will team up for a show at Dublin’s 3Arena on May 23. While Beck released his 13th studio album, Colors, back in October, YYYs are back on tour for the first time in four years following the release of Mosquito. Tickets are priced from €58.50 includes booking fee and go on sale Monday at 9am.  

  • The Altered Hours Announce New EP, European Tour

    Arguably the country’s best band, Cork’s The Altered Hours have just announced details of a forthcoming new EP and an accompanying European tour. The follow-up to last year’s stellar full-length In Heat Not Sorry, the five-piece will release the four-track On My Tongue via Art For Blind Records and Penske Recordings early next year. A typically first-rate effort from the band, lead single ‘Open Wide’ is currently premiering over on Clash.   • METZ Set For Whelan’s Return

    Two years on from their barnstorming show in the same venue, Canadian noise rock trio METZ have announced that they’ll return to Dublin’s Whelan’s on May 1. The Toronto-based band released their third, Steve Albini-produced album, Strange Peace, via Sub Pop back in September. In his review of the album, TTA’s Cathal McBride said, “What it all adds up to is the band’s most complete and rewarding work to date.” Tickets for the Whelan’s go on sale this Thursday at 10am, priced €17.50.

  • Microdisney Reconvene for 30th Anniversary Show

    Cork cult alternative rock heroes Microdisney have got back together after 30 years to perform their seminal album, The Clock Comes Down the Stairs and more, at Dublin’s National Concert Hall on June 2, 2018. The duo of Cathal Coughlan and Sean O’Hagan disbanded in 1988, having released several albums by the likes of Kabuki, Rough Trade and Virgin.   • Taylor Swift Set For Croke Park

    With her sixth studio album Reputation having just become the best-selling U.S. selling-album of 2017 in just one week, Taylor Swift has announced has three UK and Irish dates for 2018, including Croke Park in Dublin on Friday, June 15. The Reputation Stadium tour will also include Manchester’s Etihad Stadium on June 8 and Wembley Stadium in London on June 22. Tickets (which will likely go very quick) go on sale at 9am on Friday, December 1.

  • Lankum Announce Irish Winter Tour

    Having just released one of the albums of the year in the critically-acclaimed Between The Earth and Sky, Dublin’s finest folk miscreants Lankum have announced a 10-date Irish Winter tour.   • Young Fathers Announce Academy Show

    Having returned last month with the brilliant ‘Lord’ – the lead single from their forthcoming third studio album – Mercury-prize winning Edinburgh trio Young Fathers will make their return to Dublin for a show at the Academy on March 28. The three-piece of Alloysious Massaquoi, Kayus Bankole and G. Hastings last played Dublin at Forbidden Fruit 2016 and Longitude back in 2015.
