A self-proclaimed “incredible party on the edge of the world”, Valentia Isle has unveiled a second wave of acts set to play the festival in July. With musician, DJ, broadcaster and founding member of Big Audio Dynamite, Don Letts topping the latest announcement, Dublin’s The Hot Sprockets, New Zealand indie pop musician Pikachunes and Cork dream-pop band Elastic Sleep also feature. Having announced their return back in February, Super Furry Animals are amongst several new acts announced to play this year’s Body & Soul festival. Set to take place at Co. Westmeath’s Ballinlough Castle from June 19-21, the festival has also revealed that Tiga, Kuenta i Tambu, Kiasmos, SOAK, Cu, Vin Gordon and the Real Rock Band, Cloud Castle Lake, Planet Parade and Bleeding Heart will also perform. Ash, Mark Lanegan Band, The Dandy Warhols and Jape are amongst the first ten acts announced to play this year’s Indiependence Festival. Set to return to Deer Farm in Mitchelstown, Cork, across the weekend of July 31 to August 2, the festival will also see performances from Gavin James, Admiral Fellow, Little Hours, The North Sea, Wyvern Lingo and The Flaws. Joining the likes of headliners Hozier, Alt-J and The Chemical Brothers, seventeen new acts have been confirmed to play this year’s Longitude Festival. Taking place in Dublin’s Marlay Park over the weekend of Friday, July 17, the festival has revealed the following new additions to the schedule, with more still to be announced: James Blake, The Vaccines, Metronomy, Pusha T, Todd Terje, Danny Brown, Glass Animals, Everything Everything, Toro y Moi, Daphni, Jose Gonzalez, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Years & Years, Ibeyi, Benjamin Booker, Tove Lo, The Districts. Headliners Hozier, Alt-J and The Chemical Brothers are amongst the first acts announced to play this year’s Longitude. Set to take place in Dublin’s Marlay Park from July 17-19, the annual festival will also see performances from Caribou, Sbtrkt, Wild Beasts, Jungle, Dublin’s very own Girl Band and several more. Garage-blues due The Bonnevilles, alt-rock trio Abandcalledboyand folk duo New Ancestors are amongst the acts announced to play this year’s Tanglewood Festival. Returning to Newry’s Narrow Water Castle on for the fourth running on July 4 and 5, the festival will also feature performances from the likes of Ports (Little Bear), Mere Moths, Gascan Ruckus, Podracer and a band called – wait for it – The Scrotes.
