As with every year in recent memory, Dublin’s Tower Records is marking this year’s Record Store Day on Saturday, April 13 in style. This year, the store – Ireland’s largest independent record shop – is marking the occasion with a week-long celebration, with countless records, old and new, being sold with a massive price reduction. You can check out what’s on the cards this year right here. Majorly reduced, first-rate wax aside, the store will also host exclusive in-stores from three Irish acts across the week: All Tvvins launch their new album, Just To Exist, on April 12th at 1pm…

As we well know, Record Store Day takes place this Saturday, April 21st, and in celebration, Bangor’s leading the annual day of wax in the North with a series of events on High Street. Unfortunately for Belfasters, the closure of Belfast mainstays, Head & Sick Records has left them with no local outlets. Thankfully, Bangor’s Bending Sound Records is just a quick train ride away, and will open from 9am-5pm to help. Across the road, the MG car showroom hosts another record fair from 9am-3pm, from which point Flea Market Soul takes over just two doors down, offering up that rare treat: vinyl-only DJs, through the evening on…

Doubled up as its tenth annual outing, Record Store Day takes place this Saturday, Saturday 22. As ever, record stores the length and breadth of the country will be marking the occasion in different ways. Here’s our run-down of where to be this Saturday, from 8am right up until the end of the after-party. Dublin Spindizzy Records As some new standalone titles, Spindizzy on South Great George’s Street will stock up to three-quarters of this year’s RSD titles in limited quantities. Opening at 8am especially for the day (with access from the Drury St. entrance) the store will also host Spindizzy and friends…

Fast becoming an Irish music institution Dublin’s Record Store Gay has some obvious added import this year ahead of the forthcoming Marriage Referendum. Now in its fourth year, the self-proclaimed celebration of music and diversity will host a mini-music festival, poster exhibition and pop-up music shop for international Record Store Day tomorrow at Dublin’s Outhouse LGBT Community Resource Centre. Hosted in association with Little Gem Records, the annual Record Store Gay CD covers compilation will also be released on the day, featuring some excellent tracks from the likes of Hi Fashion, Kate’s Party, I Heart The Monster Hero, Florence Olivier, Katherine Lynch…

Almost certainly the busiest Record Store Day to date, Saturday past (April 19) saw queues of varying lengths form at the crack dawn outside record stores across the world, thus kickstarting a whole day of celebrating independent music, one-off releases and – perhaps most importantly – record stores themselves. Whilst Paul Weller has since said he won’t be participating again due to seeing his RSD release selling for extortionate prices online, other musicians such as Jack White got right on board, recording, cutting and selling a seven-inch single, ‘Lazaretto’, in just under four hours – something he claims is a world…

Released as part of this year’s Record Store Day (and, indeed, Gay) Dublin alt-pop band Cave Ghosts‘ sublime rendering of Kylie Minogue’s ‘Come Into My World’ has more than a touch of Devotion-era Beach House about it. Helping raise funds for Dublin’s Outhouse LGBT Community Centre, the woozy cover was released in the name of Record Store Gay on Saturday. Speaking about the track, the band said, “We wanted to completely reimagine the original song and create a visual accompaniment in the form of a music video. We desired a more lush sound to our previous recordings and achieved this…
