• Sound of Belfast 2021 Programme Launched

    The programme for this year’s Sound of Belfast has been announced. Returning both live and online for 14 days across 4-18th November, this year’s outing will see 50 events take over 11 venues across the city. Organised by the Oh Yeah Music Centre as a means to turn up the spotlight on the city’s world-class talent, highlights from this year’s programme include Bicep at the Telegraph Building, new night No Photos featuring Marion Hawkes and more, Kneecap, Bangers N’ Mashups live with Mob Wife, F.R.U.I.T.Y., Sasha Samara and more.   • Remembering Lyndon Stephens (Sound of Belfast 2020)

    One of the highlights of this year’s Sound of Belfast is a special online event celebrating the life and legacy of much-missed Belfast artist manager, label boss and mentor Lyndon Stephens. Taking place on November 11th, Remembering Lyndon Stephens will pay tribute to an industry titan and gentleman who left an indelible imprint on the landscape of Northern Irish music.   • Sound of Belfast 2019 Launched

    The programme for this year’s Sound of Belfast has been launched. Taking across November 1-10 in various Belfast venues, the ten-day celebration of local music was established by Belfast’s Oh Yeah Music Centre to promote and celebrate the musicians, bands, venues, promoters and music communities of Belfast. This year’s programme is its most extensive to date, with over 70 performances set for 18 participating venues.     The programme for this year’s Sound of Belfast has been launched. The festival will return across November 8-15, and venues Limelight 2, The Empire, The Sunflower Bar, Voodoo, Black Box, Accidental Theatre, Ulster Hall, and 39 Gordon Street will host a diverse range of events.     Promising “live gigs, music industry, awards, learning and community” the programme for this year’s Sound of Belfast was launched earlier this afternoon at Belfast’s Oh Yeah Centre. The nominal successor to Belfast Music Week, the 10 day annual festival is, according to Oh Yeah Music Centre CEO Charlotte Dryden, “a celebration of a great music city impressing audiences with new sounds, providing youth and community with access, encouraging participation through workshops and discussing the sector with industry and artists”.     The programme for this year’s Sound of Belfast has been announced, with the events running from November 6-14 around the city, culminating in the presentation of this year’s Oh Yeah Legend Award to The Divine Comedy at the NI Music Prize event at the Mandela Hall on November 14.     The programme for the inaugural Sound of Belfast in mid-November has been launched at the Oh Yeah Centre.
