• Watch: The Twenty – Have You Seen Her

    The follow-up to their cover of ‘You Can’t Be Lonely Forever’ by Derry punk veterans Bam Bam and The Calling, Belfast-based garage-punk band The Twenty have unveiled the video to their new single, ‘Have You Seen Her’. Filmed and directed by Colm Laverty and Nikki McRae on location at Belfast venue the Limelight, the video features the Colm Warren-fronted band playing in front of fans whilst a suitably tied-in storyline unravels around them.   • Watch: Ciaran Lavery – Left For America

    Taken from his forthcoming EP, Kosher, Northern Irish singer-songwriter Ciaran Lavery has unveiled the video for his wonderful new single, ‘Left For America’. Having first caught a visual glimpse of the song in a BalconyTV session last year, we’re very impressed (and rather charmed) by the accompanying visuals for the single, filmed by ROC and stars Ro Graham. Lavery launches Kosher at the Belfast’s Black Box on Thursday, June 19 as part of this year’s Open House Festival. Go here to buy tickets.  

  • Watch: Little Matador – Reasons

    The follow-up to their debut single ‘Stitch Yourself Up’, alt-rock five-piece Little Matador have unveiled the video for their new single, ‘Reasons’. Directed by Liz Robinson and Kevin Hylands, the video features the band’s frontman Nathan Connolly ending up in a boxing ring with two-time world champion female boxer Lisa Anderson.   • Watch: GO WOLF – One More Night

    Set to support Wild Beasts at Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival tonight (May 8), Belfast-based indie-pop band GO WOLF have unveiled the video to their new single, ‘One More Night’. Directed by Babysweet, the video features three female actresses “being” GO WOLF, with the band lending a helping hand along the way. Pretty cool concept, we reckon. Recorded and produced by Rocky O’Reilly at Start Together Studios, Belfast, ‘One More Night’ was mastered by Robin Schmidt. Watch the video for the single below.

    Currently on tour in England, Northern Irish singer-songwriter Tony Wright AKA VerseChorusVerse has unveiled the video to his latest single, the wonderfully dark ‘Three’. Created by Industrious Dark – the team behind Wright’s videos for  ‘No More Years‘ and ‘Nothing is Easy‘ – it was shot in Wright’s Grandmothers old house and in Edinburgh.   • Watch: Little Rivers feat. Jess Brien – All I Want

    Ahead of their official launch at Belfast’s Menagerie on Thursday, May 15, new Northern Irish label OLD FANG have unveiled their first live session, featuring a performance of Kodaline’s breakthrough single ‘All I Want’ by singer-songwriter Callum Cairns AKA Little Rivers and guest vocalist Jess Brien. The two-track session was filmed by Brian O’Kane of SixteenPixels and recorded/mixed by Mike Mormecha at Millbank Studios. Richard Elder mastered the recording.   • Watch: Talos – Escariot

    Directed, shot and edited by the visual maestros at Feel Good Lost, Cork singer-songwriter Eoin French AKA Talos has released a suitably understated video of him performing a wonderfully delicate version of ‘Tethered Bones’. Reminiscent of the likes of Perfume Genius and the Antlers, the stripped-back rendition of the debut track sees French’s vocals take centre stage, the original track’s percussion inflections and electronic tangents purified to a gripping four and a half minute of serene performance.   • Stream: A Plastic Rose – Someone’s Daughter

    Currently making waves over in Nottingham, Northern Irish alt-rock quartet A Plastic Rose have unveiled the wonderfully eccentric video for their new single, ‘Someone’s Daughter’. Directed by Tom Coles and Benson Burrows, the video features a strange, friendly robot (related to Johnny Five from Short Circuit, one wonders?), who accompanies a couple of humans before an untimely demise in an abandoned tunnel. Pretty standard stuff, really. The second single from the band’s forthcoming second album Flickering Light Of An Inner War, the track was produced by Chris Coulter.   • Watch: Ryan Vail – Grow

    The latest in a string of wonderful visual accompaniments by the duo, Derry electronic act Ryan Vail have unveiled the surf-inspired video for ‘Grow’. Released as part of the forthcoming EP of the same name – released via May 5 via Champion Sound – the video for the track was created by the interestingly-named Spiceburger. Watch the video below.
