Wicklow artist Andrew Hozier-Byrne AKA Hozier reached number 20 in our Top 100 Irish Tracks of 2013 with his spellbinding single, ‘Take Me To The Church’.     Ahead of their performance at Other Voices’ Derry Music Trail this weekend, Dublin indie/rock n’ roll quartet GANGS have released the video to their new single, ‘2 15’. Featuring the perpetually dapper four-piece gallivanting around Dingle, Kerry, the video was shot during the band’s recent appearance on Other Voices on RTE. The band’s appearance on the programme’s Derry Music Trail takes place (alongside John Deery & the Heads) takes place at The Gweedore from 11pm on Friday, February 8.     On Saturday, February 8 at Belfast’s Black Box, Northern Irish rockabilly legends The Sabrejets (pictured) will headline our Gig of the Week – Last of the Voodoo Idols, the Brian Young-fronted quartet’s fifth annual tribute night to seminal U.S. punk rock band The Cramps.   • Watch: The Rupture Dogs – Before The Flood

    Having launched it at Belfast’s Stiff Kitten on Friday night, Belfast-based alt-rock band The Rupture Dogs have released the video to their new single, ‘Before The Flood’. Film, directed and edited by Ryan Douglas, the video features the four-piece performing the track with typical intent, culminating in a suitably seismic final fifteen seconds not entirely unlike the band’s live show. ‘Before The Flood’ is taken from the band’s twelve-track debut album, Feral.     Now in its 14th year, the Belfast Film Festival makes its return to various cinemas, theatres and venues across the city from March 27 to April 6. With the bulk of the this year’s line-up yet to be announced, there has already been three special screenings confirmed to whet our collective film-going appetite: a live soundtrack performance of zombie classic Dawn of the Dead at the Waterfront on Saturday, April 5, a one-man show by Jon Ronson on being the keyboard player in Frank Sidebottom’s band and the debut film by Benedikt Erlingsson’s, Of Horses and Men.     Northern Irish alt-rock trio Two Glass Eyes have unveiled the DIY video to their new single, ‘Mend’. Shot and edited by the band’s drummer Mark Easton (of TinyBird Media), the video was shot on zero budget, the band aiming for a “feel-good tour/studio video”. Two Glass Eyes are currently booking their European tour for later in the year.
