Ahead of playing Sunflowerfest this weekend, Belfast producer Chris Hanna shared this track on SoundCloud. A bright and bouncy affair, it’s part of a live set he’ll be playing next month, made entirely of new material — having lost all his work he’s making everything again from scratch. Hanna describes it as “a wee Songs of Praise house tune”, and it’s not hard to see why. Hands in the air.

Set to feature on Belfast electronic imprint Extended Play’s EP50: STATEMENT OF INTENT – out Monday, November 30 – we’re pleased to premiere ‘B.K.I.T.B’ by Belfast producer Chris Hanna. Standing for ‘Broken Knuckles In The Bunatee’, Hanna said of the track: “‘Broken Knuckles In The Bunatee’ is my nod to the room in the Queens University Student’s Union. It regularly hosts Belfast’s rowdiest nights. When things kick off in the place the low ceiling always takes the brunt of it and I wanted to make something as a tribute to that exact moment. They’ve happened so frequently now they’ve started repairing…

“There’s things I haven’t told you. I go out late at night. And if I was to tell you. You see my different side.” In your late twenties? There’s a good chance you’ll recognise those lyrics from Audio Bullys‘ 2003 single ‘We Don’t Care’. Even if you don’t, have a listen to this and there’s a good chance memories of you feeling vaguely hardly listening to this track in your late teens will come flooding back, along with the smell of Cool Water aftershave, dax wax and Lynx Africa. Good, good-smelling times. The latest in a series of remixes, Belfast-based producer and DJ…

The latest in a spate of new material, Belfast electronic producer Chris Hanna AKA OneKnown has unveiled a new track, ‘Jektify’. Speaking of a forthcoming EP, titled Blue Galaxy, Hanna said, “I might just release it on Bandcamp as a Pay What You Want thing. I wanted the EP to be a bit spacey and weirder. Maybe I’m hanging out with Jack (Space Dimension Controller) too much.” Stream the track via Soundcloud below.

Bound for Electric Picnic at the end of the month, Champion Sound-signed electronic duo UNKNWN have unveiled their debut music video, for the track ‘BBY’. Directed by Daniel Holmes, it is a nicely edited, suitably phantasmal affair, wonderfully accompanying the track’s hazy, drifting air. ‘BBY’ is taken from the duo’s DEVIL/BBY EP, which you purchase right here. UNKNWN – comprised of producer Chris Hanna and vocalist Gemma Dunleavy – have steadily grown in stature and acclaim over the last few months, something that will come into sharp focus when they play alongside labelmates Ryan Vail, Contour, Ghosts, Talkboy and Replete at the Body & Soul tent at…

2014 is shaping up to be an extremely promising year for Belfast-based electronic duo Unknwn AKA producer Chris Hanna and vocalist Gemma Dunleavy. With the likes of South by Southwest and a forthcoming EP in the pipeline, we’re happy to premiere the twosome’s wonderfully understated remix of ‘Thunder Clatter’ by Wild Cub. “We were really chuffed when Wild Cub asked us to do the remix as I’d actually heard the original on a TV ad before and thought it was so catchy,” said Hanna. “We wanted to put our own sort of spin on it, and maybe try and take…
