• Watch: Foy Vance – Closed Hand, Full of Friends

    County Down singer-songwriter Foy Vance has unveiled the video to his new single, ‘Closed Hand, Full of Friends’. The song is the lead track taken from Vance’s second full-length album Joy Of Nothing, released in August via Glassnote Records. Following on from ‘Joy Of Nothing’ and ‘Janey’, it is the third track to be taken from the album, the follow-up to Vance’s 2007 debut full-length, Hope. The piano featured in the video was the focus of a police investigation after police attempted to discover how it was found in the River Tay in Perthshire. Watch the video below.

  • Watch: Pixies – Andro Queen

    Alt-rock demigods Pixies have unveiled the Ondi Timoner-directed video to the latest single, ‘Andro Queen’. Taken from the band’s recent EP-1, the single is the follow-up to ‘Indie Cindy’ – the band’s first single without Kim Deal – released last month. Pixies play Dublin’s Olympia theatre on November 18 and 19. Watch the video for ‘Andro Queen’ below.

  • Watch: Fuck Buttons – Brainfreeze

    Ten years and three full-length albums in, Bristol electronic duo Fuck Buttons have unveiled the video to their new single, ‘Brainfreeze’. Directed by Andrew Hung from the band, it shows both members pulling faces, shirtless, through a warped lens. Cheap and cheerful, eh? Taken from their third album Slow Focus, the single will be released a limited-edition 12″ single via ATP Recordings on Monday, October 7. Watch the video below.

  • Watch: Sunken Foal – Cutty’s Advice

    Taken from his forthcoming new album Friday Syndrome Volume 2, Dublin-based electronic producer Dunk Murphy AKA Sunken Foal has unveiled the video to his new track, ‘Cutty’s Advice’. The follow up to his debut album, Fallen Arches, the first volume of Friday Syndrome was released last July to a strong critical reception. Friday Syndrome Volume 2 is expected to be released at some stage in November.     After considerable anticipation, Montreal indie band Arcade Fire have unveiled the interactive video for their new single, Reflektor. Easily one of the more interesting promos of its kind, the video allow viewers to alter effects in the clips via either their mobile, tablet or mouse. Reflektor is our on October 29 on Merge records.   • Video exclusive: FOG – Paranoids

    Belfast-based rock band FOG (otherwise curiously known as Friends of Granleese) have unveiled the Sarah McGlinchey-directed video to their new single, ‘Paranoids’ – and we have an exclusive first look. The track – recorded at Omagh’s Outland Studios in June – will feature on the band’s forthcoming debut album Hollow & The Grace, due for release in late October.   • Watch: Blue Whale – Was

    Belfast jazz-punk quartet Blue Whale have released the video for ‘Was’, the lead single from their forthcoming self-titled EP. Crated by Stuart Sloan, the video splices footage of the band performing the track with an array of contorted, skittering, warped images. The band’s self-titled EP will be releaesd on 7″ vinyl on Friday, September 20 at Culture Night Belfast, when the band will be performing a “rooftop tour” in the City Centre from 4-8pm followed by their EP launch party in St. Anne’s Car Park at 10pm.
