  • White Collar Boy – Priory Hall

Showing their roots in the form of sonic cap doffs to the likes of MK, Larry Levan, but more-so the straight-laced forms of euro disco prevalent in the 90s, White Collar Boys’ exceptionally infectious brand of garage-inflected house shines iridescent throughout their Priory Hall EP. The duo’s first effort proper since 2013, the four tracks of polished electronica that owe much more to Cologne than Chicago in places, relay to the listener a number of colourful synthesiser runs, throbbing rhythmic hits, and deep melodic excursions. EP opener and title-track ‘Priory Hall’ features Sean Reilly delivering a vocal that adds much…

  • Interview: White Collar Boy

Dublin duo White Collar Boy have been turning heads of late. With an increasing focus on their live show over the past few years, the pair have already impressed with their warped electronica; from the leftfield garage of 2013’s SUUU/Tide EP, to the accessible slow burn of 2012’s Kinsale. Having met each other at Primavera and subsequently forming in 2011, the pair have supported the likes of Factory Floor, Com Truise and Creep on tour, and are ready to mark the apex of their journey so far by releasing their debut LP in 2016. Euphoric lead single ‘Away From Reality’…

  • Track Record: White Collar Boy

In this installment of Track Record, we hang out with Gav White and Mark Cummins from Dublin based ‘Post-Nothing’ duo White Collar Boy. They select their five favourite records each from their respective collections featuring the likes of Fuck Buttons, The Beta Band and Scott Walker. Photos by Aidan Kelly-Murphy.   Gav White The Universal Togetherness Band – Self Titled This is the last record I got just last week. Recovered gem of an LP that I first heard on a Mister Saturday Night Podcast and then I couldn’t find it anywhere until the ever reliable Gilles Peterson played it on his show. It has…

  • Stream: White Collar Boy – SUUU/TIDE EP

Ahead of its official release next week on Bodytonic, Dublin-based electronic duo White Collar Boy are streaming their forthcoming second EP, SUUU/TIDE. Comprised of the double a-side single – ‘SUUU’ (featuring vocals from Gemma Dunlovely) and ‘TIDE’ – and two remixes of their former by Frank Bird and Simon B, the release aptly displays Gavin White and Mark Cummins’ eclectic influences in Neu!, Fuck Buttons and Four Tet amongst others. Stream the EP via Soundcloud below.
