Northern Irish alt-rock band Rupture Dogs are streaming their new single, ‘Wake Up’. Taken from the band’s long-awaited debut album, Feral, the single will be officially released on June 20 at Belfast’s Limelight 2. Toronto-based label Arts and Crafts – home to Broken Social Scene, Bloc Party and more – celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. To help mark (et) the occassion, the people’s favourite ever-changing supergroup Broken Social Scene appeared on last night’s “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon”, performing ‘Almost Crimes’ (from 2002’s You Forgot It In People) and ‘7/4 Shoreline’ (from their 2005 self-titled). Seriously. FACT have revealed that the global hip-hop phenomenon that is Kanye West is the star of Kanye Quest 3030, a ““a hip-hop-themed science-fiction 2D roleplaying game starring Kanye West”. The game is reportedly set in a dystopian future and sees other rappers such as Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj and Biggie Smalls being controlled by a malevolent “dictator”. Belfast-based singer-songwriter VerseChorusVerse AKA Tony Wright has released the video to a new track, ‘The Birds’. Filmed by Will McConnell of Bandwidth Films, it is latest promo video from the North Coast native, who is set to release his highly-anticipated debut album in the coming months. Having proved itself to be one of the country’s best outdoor urban festival sites at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Derry’s Ebrington Square will host a free concert as part of the Music City celebrations on Friday June 21. A reminder that Scottish electronic duo Boards Of Canada will be streaming their new album Tomorrow’s Harvest over on their website tonight. The live stream of the group’s highly-anticipated new album represents a climax of all the internet hysteria to this point, which has so far included mysterious tweets from the band themselves, vinyl prints being sold on eBay for over $4,000, and several codes found on vinyl singles and internet messageboards. London musician Paul Dixon AKA Fyfe has unveiled the wonderfully disjointed slice of brooding electro-pop that is ‘Converastions’ The follow-up the equally immerseive ‘St. Tropez’ – taken form his debut EP Solace, released earlier this year – the track is officialy released on July 8. Ahead of its official release on June 3, Glasgow indie pop band Camera Obscura are streaming their fifth studio album, Desire Lines. Featuring guest appearances by the likes of Neko Case and My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, the twelve-track release comes four years after their last studio album, the exquisite My Maudlin Career. A so-called “paper crushed, insected, digital love story” the video for the song was animated, directed and designed by Pixelgram AKA Aaron McKee.
